This tour's feature, The Phoenix House, got its name because it is a rebuilt green re-incarnation of a fifth generation farmstead that was lost to fire in 2008. The 19th century oak timber salvaged from the original home will be re-used as the flooring and trim of the new home. This new home is built to be sustainable and indestructible and will last for hundreds, if not thousands of years.
